The Fire Protection District Vote
A Fire Protection District is how communities like ours fund local fire service in a steady, predictable way — instead of relying on year-to-year fundraising and uncertainty. It's a community investment in the service we're already counting on.
A YES vote this fall protects what matters most.
Predictable funding means up-to-date equipment, proper training, and a department that can keep showing up the way our neighbors expect.
Better Emergency Services
Faster Response Times
When we're properly resourced, we get to you faster. In a fire or a medical call, minutes matter.
Our people are your neighbors. The right gear, the right trucks, the right training keeps them safe when they're working for you.
Safer Volunteers
Lower Insurance Costs
— for everyone
Here’s the math: the average home in our area is valued at $270,099. With a Fire Protection District, the average Fire Due would be about $270/year. Without one, insurance companies can double or triple rates when fire coverage becomes unstable — potentially pushing the average homeowner's policy from ~$1,700/year today to $5,000+ for the exact same home. $270/year to keep your coverage stable versus $5,000+ if it doesn't pass. A Fire District protects your home and your wallet.
The Insurance Services Office (ISO) scores every fire department on how prepared it is to respond. A lower ISO score means lower homeowner insurance premiums across the community. Without stable funding, our rating could rise — and so could everyone's rates.
FAQ
Q: Is this a tax increase?
A: This is NOT a tax. It's a dedicated funding mechanism for the fire service we're already relying on — one that gives the department the ability to plan ahead, invest in equipment and training, and keep serving this community without year-to-year uncertainty. And when you run the numbers, the Fire Due (~$270/year for the average home) is a fraction of what homeowners could face in insurance increases if fire coverage becomes unstable.
